Superman

supermanCheck out that Superman leap from the diving board! This was the pool party on Sunday for all the kids from Vacation Bible School. A big thanks to Mrs. Kristen and all the volunteers that made FUMC VBS a hit! And thanks to the Murray Country Club for hosting our party. There was pizza and swimming for all and everyone had a great time. Can’t wait for VBS next year!

Gone fishin’

Gone fishin Saturday was Murray Parks’ annual event “Hooked on Fishing not on Drugs.” It’s a free fishing event at Imes’ Farm. There’s plenty of free snacks and food, the kids get a free t-shirt and (really nice) tackle box. Several of the FLW fishing pros brought their boats and signed autographs. (Liam’s favorite was the “Pop-Tarts boat.”) Ducks Unlimited even set up a compound bow archery range for kids. I think we spent most of our time there. Looks like lil’ Robin Hood’s gonna need his own bow.

Liam caught 3 fish on his own (look closely at the picture) and the only sad part of the day was that Granddad wasn’t there to fish with him. Daddy tried to be a good fishin’ buddy, but when it comes to fishing there’s just no substitute for Granddad.

He’s famous!

Summer FunThose of you that “take a paper” as my grandmother would say, check the front page of Monday’s Murray Ledger & Times for 2.0′s full-page debut. We were at the Murray City pool on opening day and a news photographer snapped him up. I’ll agree, it’s a great picture, but the one’s of him on the diving board are even better!

You should’ve seen the line for the diving board. About 15 kids, aged 12-20 lined up to take their Greg Louganis, and in the middle of them all was a 3-year-old, beaming a smile from ear to ear. “Daddy, I’m jumping like the BIG BOYS!” Way to go, kiddo. Way to go.
