I’ve just linked my website to my LinkedIn profile, meaning specially tagged posts will now display on my LinkedIn Profile. LinkedIn is a professionl social network designed to let individuals and organizations network through people they already know who may know people they want to know. On the contrary, it’s filled with professional individuals looking to network between companies and organizations. And it’s completely functional. It’s a site with a mission statement and it fulfills that statement completely. Facebook, on the other hand, is a distraction in a dotcom; rife with zombies, li’l green patches, and hottie pricing. It’s a social network, not a professional network. LinkedIn is a professional network. The difference to many is subtle, I’m sure. And the y-gens might gloss it over wondering why you can’t poke your boss or send possible employers flair. But trust me, it’s fully functional and greatly populated.
